Install Tense Code on your own server
If you’d like to install Tense Code on your own server, you can get started by checking the requirements, purchasing a license (if necessary), and downloading the files here. The manuals include installation instructions, which is a quick and simple process! If you don’t have a server or don’t want to set it up yourself, you can create a Tense Code site for free!
Licensing Costs
A commercial license for business use is $149 for Tense Log and Tense Index together for a web site, or $49 for Tense Index by itself. They are absolutely free for personal and non-profit use, though we do appreciate a small donation if you find them useful. See the purchase section on the right to buy a license or donate.
Tense Log Server Requirements
To install Tense Log you’ll need:
- An Apache web server
- PHP 4.3.2 or later
- MySQL 4.1 or later
- .htaccess and mod_rewrite support
- GD1, GD2, or ImageMagick
Most PHP installations include a version of GD, though ImageMagick is recommended as it supports many more image types. Need a web host? I recommend DreamHost. Use the offer TENSECODE for $50 off!
Internet Explorer 5.5 or later, Safari, Firefox, or another modern browser is required to edit logs. They can be viewed with any browser.
Tense Index Server Requirements
To install Tense Index you’ll need:
- An Apache web server
- PHP 4.3.2 or later
- .htaccess support
- GD1, GD2, or ImageMagick
